At Hills and Falls, the focus of our program is on the whole child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. Teachers collaborate to develop themes and activities that integrate sensory experiences, pre-reading and pre-math concepts, science, social studies, art, social and self-help skills. For example, one year the entire school took a “trip” to Italy for the Winter Olympics. Children learned Italian phrases, prepared Italian foods, made passports, packed pretend suitcases, and participated in their own Opening Ceremony.

We incorporate a number of specialists into the curriculum, including a music teacher and a movement specialist. We have also enjoyed visits from Curious Creatures and the New England Aquarium.
